30. Week 9 - Training and Results - Back-to-Back!

This week saw me step up the mileage and raise the game a little with weekend back-to-back training. This was all about upping the ante, and running on tired, stiff and sore legs. Something I need to get a whole lot more comfortable with. I also got some training in, in the dark on trails. Something that is important to do and will do more of (I'll talk more on this in another post).

The premise was simple. Head out for an 18km speed hike on the Saturday late afternoon into evening, followed by running a fully fasted-from-the-night-before 14Km the next morning. Leaving just enough time for the legs to stiffen up nicely and the injuries to grumble at me. The task was successful, and I still had plenty in the tank at the end. The only reason I stopped at 14km was my family met me out on the trail to walk the dog, and ended up walking back with them the remaining 4km. Now, onto the week's training...

This was a solid mileage week and was concentrated by the fact we have the Jurassic Coast Ultra Challenge now confirmed for the 22nd May. That leaves 10 training weeks left.

Fat loss progress

A big market at my weigh in. 100kg! Next is double figures!!. Progress remains steady but starting to get a bit bored of eating. I'll be looking at how I can make food more interesting.

Starting Weight: 112kg

Wk 7 Weigh-in: 100.2 Kg!

Weight Lost = 11.8kg (26Ibs) in 66 days

Remaining weight to lose = 10.2Kg

I am now over 54% of my target in 9 weeks! and have lost 10% of my entire starting bodyweight!

Double figures await....

Let's see... Thanks for reading
